Logistics Operations Manager (based in Vác)

Mission: 

Michelin Central Europe Logistics is looking for a dynamic and results-driven Logistics Operations Manager to lead warehousing and transport operations at our key distribution center in Vác. This site serves more than 15 countries including Hungary, Slovakia, Czechia, Croatia, Romania, and as far as Kazakhstan. 

As the Logistics Operations Manager, you will be responsible for end-to-end operations performance, managing internal teams and logistics partners, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring excellence in service delivery. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of ~8 direct reports (transport planners, customs, maintenance, cost control). 

  • Oversee daily operations for warehousing and transport (managed via external partners and transport providers). 

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean tools (MQP, DMAIC, root cause analysis) and implement best practices in operational excellence. 

  • Build and maintain strong collaboration with internal departments: Sales, Customer Care, Supply Chain, and Order to Cash teams. 

  • Define and implement a new organizational structure for the site, ensuring smooth team integration and clear role definitions. 

  • Support and lead transformation projects and operational adjustments as the business evolves. 

 

What we're looking for: 

  • Bachelor’s degree. 

  • Fluency in English and Hungarian is a must. 

  • Proven experience in logistics or industrial operations management (e.g. warehouse, transport, shop-floor). 

  • Experience in managing medium to large size teams.  

  • Strong background in lean methodologies and continuous improvement. 

  • Ability to steer partners, influence across functions, and drive performance in a complex operational environment. 

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. 

  • Availability to work up to 3-4 days per week in the office.
